POET-LAB SS27 at LFW
For POET-LABS’s SS27 collection, titled Remember, Giuseppe Iaciofano explores memory as a fundamental part of identity and a quiet form of resistance in a world increasingly shaped by conformity. The collection takes Albania as its starting point, drawing from the personal history of its muse, Elton Ilirjani. Born in Albania, Elton’s connection to the country informed the collection’s focus on memory and its role in shaping identity.
Albania’s industrial architecture provided a visual reference for the collection. Brutalist buildings, concrete structures, metal surfaces and geometric forms were translated into oversized silhouettes, asymmetric tailoring and sculptural genderless garments. The collection continues POET-LAB’s approach to combining structured forms with fluid shapes. Tailoring is exaggerated through volume and proportion, while the construction of each garment remains visible. The restrained colour palette keeps the focus on shape, fabric and structure, working with repurposed deadstock fabrics and challenging conventional ideas around dressing.
