Genuine Fake Premium Economy at ICA
In it’s final week at the ICA, artists Jenna Bliss, Buck Ellison and Jasmine Gregory investigate what effect the post-2008 era has had on societal myths of fairness in Genuine Fake Premium Economy. This group exhibition brings together recent work and new commissions by the three artists, from moving image by Bliss, photography by Ellison, and painting and assemblage by Gregory.

Born in the mid-1980s in the United States, Bliss, Ellison and Gregory transitioned into adulthood and working life in the wake of the financial crisis. This exhibition evaluates a generation living and working in a broken global economy. Bliss, Ellison and Gregory also deliberate on the uneasy relationship between art and money. The acceleration of wealth inequity, art traded as investment, and today’s commodity culture are all uncomfortable realities for a growing number of emerging artists.
